A hand-printed, original lino print of ‘Green Witch’ printed using Cranfield inks. Printed on Japanese 110gsm quality printmaking paper.
This is an original, limited edition Linocut print. Lee Bell has printed them from her hand-cut design on Lino which she then inks up using oil-based Cranfield safe wash relief printing ink and transfer the image onto high-quality printing paper using her printing press. Each layer consists of inks that are printed overlapping. Each layer of color must dry for at least 1-2 days before the second layer can be printed over it. So the process is comparatively complex, but the result is beautiful and rewarding! The print is created by several linoleum plates, so there is not always a perfect overlay. This is not a quality defect, but part of the printing process.
Due to the handmade nature of printmaking, each print in an edition will vary very slightly from one another, which means each print is unique. The different markings from the printing press are what makes them original and so special!
Size: The print measures approximately 21 x 29.7cm and will fit any standard A4 frame. The printed area is about 19.5 x 27.5cm.
